Founded in December 1999: 1999–2017 – collection of scientific works “Economics of Nature and the Environment”;
In 2018 has been re-registered due to the change of format to the scientific journal "Environmental Economics and Sustainable Development".

Founders(s) – Public Institution “Institute of Environmental Economics and Sustainable Development of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine”.
The Certificate of State Registration of the journal was issued 22.03.2018 (Series КВ № 23175-13015ПР).
According to the order of Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine № 527 as of May, 24, 2018 the Journal "Environmental Economics and Sustainable Development" was added in the List of scientific academic professional editions, which can publish results of doctoral and candidate theses in Economics.
The journal is published two times annually. Scientific articles are published in Ukrainian, English, Polish and Russian languages.

The Journal is included in a number of international and Ukrainian scientific journals databases:

Topical issues of the theory and practice of economics of nature management and sustainable development, rational use, protection and reproduction of natural resource potential, ecological policy and natural-technogenic safety, promotion of economic science development are highlighted.

Journal provides immediate, open access to its content, based on the following principle: free, open access to research results helps to increase global knowledge sharing.

Peer Review and Publication Ethics
In order to ensure a high scientific level and quality of articles, published in the journal "Environmental Economics and Sustainable Development", all materials received by the editor are subject to mandatory review.
Articles submitted to the journal are reviewed confidentially according to the double-blind principle (Two-way “blind” reviewing eliminates bias by not disclosing names of neither editor nor author to both parties). The contact of the author and reviewers takes place exclusively by correspondence via e-mail with the executive secretary of the journal.
Submitted articles are checked for compliance with the structure and design requirements, and are further sent to inside editors or external editors invited which are assigned by an Executive Editor.
According to the results of familiarization with the manuscript of the article, the reviewers send to the editor of one of the recommendations:
1. Article is eligible for print in the present form.
2. Paper eligible for print after alterations and amendments indicated by the Reviewer, with no need to be re-reviewed.
3. Paper eligible for print after recasting according to Reviewer’s remarks. Needs to be re-reviewed.
4. Paper not eligible for print (with indicating the reasons for the decision made).
The journal’s editorial office sends to the author via email reviewers’ recommendations. The author, having the received recommendations, takes them into account and modifies or rewrites the article, or sends a reasonable refusal to accept the recommendations (comments) of the reviewers.
After receiving a corrected article based on the comments, or accepting the author's reasoning, the Editorial Board makes the final decision on the publication of the article.

Deadline for submission of articles to the journal:
• the first number to 01 April (journal submission for publication in June of this year);
• the second number to 01 September (journal submission for publication in November of this year).
